Implementation At Woman’s

Post-live & Optimization: We have reached the peak

You’ve made a few stops along the way, you’ve experienced some new environments, and now you’ve arrived at your destination! Similar to climbing a mountain, Epic go-live is the peak of our implementation process. This is when we cutover from Meditech and begin documenting in Epic. This has been a long but rewarding process for everyone involved in this Epic adventure!

WE. ARE. LIVE!

I’ve seen our team do some extraordinary things since I’ve been at Woman’s. Each time raising the bar higher than before and surpassing all my expectations. You have dedicated so much to our Epic transition and, in turn, to our patients. You rose to the occasion and as a result, have helped enhance the experience for our patients at Woman’s and connect them to their providers. This is YOUR achievement. You did it!

Change, as you know, is not always easy. Transitioning to Epic has brought a lot of change to how we do things at Woman’s and there’s still more yet to come. It will take a moment to find our rhythm as we continue on our journey through process change and procedural adjustments, but we will get there! As you work through these adjustments, remember to follow the Help Desk processes in place when you run into an issue, and always put the needs of our patients first.

On behalf of all stakeholders of Woman’s Hospital, especially the women and infants we care for daily, thank you for your continued hard work and dedication throughout this journey.

Sincerely,
Rene

Guiding Prinicples

Implementing Epic will be a game-changer for our patients and our staff, especially nurses. Having an EHR system that allows information sharing, and therefore access to more detailed patient records and medical history, will enhance the care we provide and the efficiency at which we can deliver it.”

Wendy Singleton, Associate Chief Nursing Officer/Epic Nurse Champion

“As providers, it’s important to have an EHR that helps us do our jobs efficiently and to focus on what’s most important – our patients! Epic will help us keep our patients at the forefront while also ensuring we have up-to-date resources and proven processes in place at all times.”

Alison Rodriguez, MD, OB-GYN/Epic Physician Champion

“Not only will Epic create more streamlined workflows for our clinicians, but it will also improve our ability to communicate with patients and make them more involved and engaged in their personal health journey.”

Paul Kirk, Chief Information Officer
